Brother Rives, it is a good observation that in the old testement there was no sacrifice for wilful sin. I believe this is correctly shown in Hebrews 10. However the 10 commandments are not nailed to the cross in the sense that they just disappeared. They are nailed to the cross through the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilling the law with His righteousness. This is why we trust Him for our salvation without any merit of our own,"to him that worketh not, but believeth in Jesus, his faith is counted for righteousness" ( to us.)Rom.4. This is why the Lord Jesus is the end of the law to everyone that believes.Rom.10:4;1Tim.1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned...For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world...Titus1:11,12. If we sin knowing that what we are doing is sin and continue in it the Lord chastens us Heb.12:6. If there is no repentance then 1Jn.5:16 is a sin unto death. The cutoff time must be up to the Lord, he is merciful and longsuffering and desires that none should perish, but that all come to repentance. 2Peter 3:19. The wicked one can touch a sinning Christian because he gives place unto him Eph.4:26-5:11. When we confess our sin to the Lord and repent, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn.1:9; 5:16,17. If a believer is cutoff from God, he cannot be saved again: ...If they shall fall away (apostatize from God), to renew them again unto repentance ( is impossible); seeing thy crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Heb.6:4-6. These are believers for it says "and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost". Paul warns us of a great apostasy in the church.2Thes.2:7;1Tim.4:1. Many do not believe a true Christian can fall away and be lost forever. Some will not even fellowship with each other over this doctrine. Let God be true and every man be a liar! We must be faithful to the whole word of God and not just the parts we agree with.2Tim.2:15. This is why John says not to pray for them that have been cutoff. Never the less the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.2Tim.2:19. Many are called, but few are chosen. Matt.22:14; 2 Peter1:1-11
