Good article. However as a born again Christian who is indwelt by God's Holy Spirit I see the root of evil in a different light. All of us are evil. Jer. 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?  Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Rom 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. Natural law shows that man knows evil and good, but only trusting in the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is it possible to know God in an intimate relationship. This is what gives any man the victory over sin and death. Outside of the Lord there is brilliance, genius, but no victory over the real problem that plagues mankind: SIN. TO MANY THIS IS FOOLISHNESS. 1Cor. 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. Both Jung and Freud may have been brilliant in their fields, but foolish as far as the Lord is concerned. With Freud it was sex, sex , sex theories. This is supposed to be the main reason for our behavior. Jung was involved in the occult. Here is a website that gives an excellent understanding that believers need not go to secular psychiatry, but every saved person has God's Holy Spirit and is therefore "COMPETENT TO MINISTER"    For pastors and Christian counselors this is a must. As believers we must turn to God's word to minister, not a mixture of psycho Babylonian confusion. His servant, Peter
