There has been a controversy about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit for centuries. Some hold the Gifts of the early church have ceased, vanished, shortly after the Apostles and Prophets. Others believe they are operating in the church today. This is an important topic for it involves the Inspiration of the Scriptures.

[2Ti 3:16-17 KJV] 16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

First. let us look at the Ceasensationist view. It is clear from scripture, while on earth our Lord operated in all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. For the Spirit was not limited in Him. God created all things by His own power, whether they be things in heaven or earth. He did not need Gifts of the Spirit. The Gifts are for man given by the Holy Spirit. By becoming a man our Lord submitted Himself to the Father. At His baptism He was filled with the Holy Spirit.

[Col 2:9 KJV] 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. [Luk 3:22 KJV] 22 And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Therefore, He always healed everyone He wanted to heal.

Mat 4:24

And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

The Lord commissioned the 70 Disciples

[Luk 10:9 KJV] ...9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you...[Luk 10:19 KJV] 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
